An explosion

I dreamed I was taking a walk outside, behind a grain elevator or factory. I noticed that the chimney seemed like it was hotter and smokier than usual. Then suddenly it exploded into flame. I took off running to get as far away from it as I could, and to get home and tell Erick about it. As I was running, I realized my phone was in pocket and I should call 911. I reported the fire, and the dispatcher told me they already knew about it and were on the scene.

The next day I went back to work at Walmart, which happened to be right next door to the place that had burned. Amazingly, they had cleaned everything up so quickly that I couldn't even smell smoke in the air. It was empty, and they had workers pressure cleaning the walls.

At my job, my boss told me that today I'd be teaching kids how to write the alphabet. She also told me that my favorite Walmart employee would be my class, and did I know who that was? I said, "I don't know--there's a lot of people at Walmart that I like." She insisted I guess. I guessed Maryann, but it was actually Diandra. So I taught Diandra along with several preschoolers how to make a's.

Later on I found that I was a suspect in the fire, since I had been near the scene when it happened and didn't have an alibi.

Dreams of being a playwright

I dreamed last night that I was writing a mystery novel. The basic plot of my mystery novel is that I was an author writing a mystery novel, and that everytime I wrote about a crime, that crime would be committed. Someone was reading my book and committing all the crimes in it. My book was so exciting, I decided to turn it into a play. By surfing the Internet, I found that Ryan's (the restaurant) sponsored plays and would allow budding playwrights such as myself to use their building for performances. I was very excited about that possibility, and I went to my mom and dad's house to hunt for costumes to use in my play. Most of them were stored in my old bedroom, which was Robyn's room now. As I gathered up costumes (richly embroidered robes, dresses, crowns, etc.) into bundles, I heard this soft warbling sound. I stopped to listen, and the sound stopped. I hauled out my load of costumes and then tiptoed softly back into the room to listen. Nothing. I remained quiet for several minutes, and then the sound started back up again. It was coming from behind Sarah's air conditioner. I carefully scooted the air conditioner out of the window, and two very tiny yellow birds covered with soot flew out. I caught them gently, cupped in my hand, and brought them down to show the rest of my family. My son, Jay, thought they were baby chicks, and then we all were confused for awhile about whether chicks were a generic term for baby birds, or only for baby chickens. I do remember saying that I thought baby chicks were a lot cuter than chickens. These birds could fly, though, so I was pretty sure they were not baby chickens. They were extrememly dirty, though, but we gave them to my dad to take care of. He was going to clean them up and do some research before he released them back into the wild. He was a little concerned that they would get caught in the broadband, since they were so small.

Labor Day

Lately I have only remembered bits and pieces of my dreams. Last night I remembered more of my dreams than usual. I dreamed we were at my mom and dad's house for Labor Day and that Erick and I were getting ready to go on our little getaway. Only we never really had decided what we were going to do or where we were going to go. We were trying to figure it out, but my mom kept giving us jobs to do. They were having a fund raiser for their church, and she needed me to make signs for it. At first she wanted to borrow the letters for our church sign, but we have so many in use already at our church right now we didn't have enough. So I used posters and markers. We needed one that said "Garage Sale" and one that said "Bake Sale," and some that said "Donations Accepted." There were more than that, but I can't remember them all. She wanted Erick to do work on the barn, too--put a roof on, or something. I really can't remember more than that.
