Visiting the Penners

I dreamed last night that we went to visit the Penners. We called them up and asked them if we could come visit, and then we left. It didn't take long to get to their neighborhood. We had instructions that we were to go to the end of Grinch Lane and then turn left. Grinch Lane was very long and was in the middle of some sort of national park. All of the houses were historical houses that had been turned into musuems. There were tourists everywhere. The road turned and twisted and even went straight through some of the houses. Finally we got to the end of the road and we could see the mountains. I knew we were getting close. I saw a column of chimney smoke in the distance and knew that had to be it. As we rounded the corner, I saw it...but I was sure that couldn't be it. My friend Lisa had told me they lived in a four-story barn. This was an old green boxcar with a couple of old toilets sitting out front. To my surprise, it was their house! We hugged the Penners, but Lisa could tell that I was confused. "I thought you lived in a four-story barn!" I said. "I do!" she replied. "See how tall it is? It's nearly as tall as four-stories." I said, "No, it's a one-story boxcar." We argued about it for quite a bit, but finally I just came to the conclusion that my friend was just delusional.

Church full of people

This is a reoccuring dream that I have, although it's not always quite the same. Every so often I dream that our church is full of people. Last night I dreamed that I was trying to play "Shout To the Lord" but I was really struggling with it. Some of the chords were chords that I had never heard of before, like P and Q. I finally gave up trying to play it. My voice was really weak, too, because since Donna and Danny left our church, I have to sing by myself and I was having a hard time singing loud enough to be heard. But as I started to sing I realized I wasn't singing by myself--I could hear other people singing with me. I looked up and realized there were people standing and worshiping God and singing, and more people were coming in. The whole church was praising God like never before, and it was packed full of people and no one even noticed that I couldn't sing or play.

Lost buttons

Last night I dreamed I was trying to help my mom work with Microsoft Publisher. She had created a text box, and it was not centered where she wanted it. I told her that she could use the arrange button to distribute it vertically and horizontally. I tried to help her find the arrange button, but I couldn't find it. I clicked on all the links on the toolbar, and it was still missing. So I started looking through drawers, trying to find the missing button. I found several pairs of earrings I had thought I had lost, but I still could not find the missing button. She kept trying to tell me it was okay, she thought the text box was fine where it was, but I didn't think it was okay at all. I never did find the arrange button, no matter how hard I looked.

A trip to the store.

Last night I dreamed that we were at a little store. I had found two super-soakers for $1.67 each, and I thought it would be nice to buy some for the kids. Erick (my husband) said that we couldn't afford to get them for all of the kids, so I decided to buy only two of them, for Rachel and Abby. I looked around to see if I could find anything cheaper for the rest, and I found some tiaras I decided to get for Joy and Sarah. Then I was trying to find something to get for Jay and Timothy. I found a stuffed animal, but it was storming really bad outside and I was having a hard time concentrating on finding something else. The store was swaying back and forth and the lights kept blinking on and off. The kids were at home and I was worried about them being home by themselves. Erick had left, and I went to look for him, leaving everything on the countertop. Eventually I learned that he had gone back to the store and had decided to buy a movie instead, about the founding of Clay City. We thought that sounded interesting, so we brought it home and watched it, only to discover it wasn't our Clay City--it was Clay City, Texas. We learned that Richard Riggs had founded it, and that his first wife had divorced him over it.

The purpose of this blog

I have another active blog I've been keeping, but I thought I'd try something new just for fun. I'd like to blog my dreams. I don't always remember what I dream, but oftentimes I do. I've always enjoyed dreaming--I find them entertaining. I don't know if anyone else will enjoy reading my dreams, but I'd like to write them out anyway just for the fun of it.

I will use the names of real people in my dreams, or at least I plan on it. I don't know if I will always post everything if I dream about something I wouldn't want everyone to read, but that doesn't happen too often so I don't foresee it being an issue at this time.

I hope you enjoy!
